Apple: From a variety of apples from an average of 20 year old trees.
Tasting Notes: Apple, Vanilla, Wood, Spice
The Huard family have been on the Le Pertyer property in the Suisee-Normand for five generations. Jean-Francois Guillouet, who recently took over for his retired grandfather Michel, is the 7th generation. About 30 varieties of apples are grown on the property.
Jean-Francois has combined three fantastic vintages (’90, ’92, ’05) to create this incredible, smooth Hors d’ Age. There’s balanced aromas and flavors of tarte tatin, vanilla, honey, caramel, butter, woodiness, and smoked almond with notes of pepper and even salted licorice.
