Grape: Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes: Honey, Apricot, Blueberry, Red berries
Canada’s first estate winery, Inniskillin, is internationally renowned for its award-winning wines and for its pioneering role in establishing the Canadian wine industry. On July 31, 1975, its founders (Donald Ziraldo and Karl Kaiser- an Italian and an Austrian) made history when they were given the first winery license in Canada since Prohibition. The winery's name was inspired by the land's former owner, the Colonel of the Inniskilling Fusiliers.
The Inniskillen Cabernet Franc is unctuous, fresh, and super concentrated with balanced acidity and enough tannin to cut through the sweetness. The plush palate delivers flavors of honey, molasses, caramel, strawberry, rhubarb, sweet tobacco, candied apricot, blueberry, and blackberry. This very special wine makes a splendid dessert all by itself.
