Grape: Riesling
Tasting Notes: Honey, Apple sauce, Peach pie, Candied Apricot
Canada’s first estate winery, Inniskillin, is internationally renowned for its award-winning wines and for its pioneering role in establishing the Canadian wine industry. On July 31, 1975, its founders (Donald Ziraldo and Karl Kaiser- an Italian and an Austrian) made history when they were given the first winery license in Canada since Prohibition. The winery's name was inspired by the land's former owner, the Colonel of the Inniskilling Fusiliers.
The inniskillen Riesling Ice wine is rich, viscous, medium bodied, and clean with high acidity to balance out the sweetness. The palate features pure flavors of honey, apple sauce, peach pie, apricot, mango, lemon peel, ginger. tropical fruit, butterscotch, and caramel notes. It will match wonderfully with apple spice cake with crème fraiche., cheesecake, pineapple upside down cake, or as it's own dessert.
