Tasting Notes: Chocolate, Raspberry, Cream, Tootsie Roll
Life-long, hands-on agriculturists, Evelyn and Leo Trentadue in order to preserve their way of life, these hard-working Italian ranchers purchased 208 acres of land in 1959 in Sonoma County's then remote Alexander Valley. For over 55 years now, the Trentadues have been growing premium wine grapes, with some vines dating back to 1886. Once the Chocolate Amore is finished aging and is ready for bottling, they infuse a tiny amount of natural chocolate extract to the final blend.
This opulent port styled red dessert wine is sweet and full bodied, with low acidity and low tannins. the rich palate exudes flavors of chocolate, red berries, plum, cherry, and cream with nuances of vanilla, coffee and mocha. It is perfect with chocolate lava cake a la mode or just pour it over vanilla ice cream.
