The House was established in Reims in 1843, by Joseph Krug. Since 1843, six generations of the Krug family have enriched Joseph's vision of crafting the very best Champagne he could offer, every single year, regardless of annual variations in climate.
This Champagne is a delicate blend of wines of the year with wines from selected plots of the House’s vast reserve library. For the record, the 25th Edition includes 28 wines from five different years—the youngest being 2013, the oldest 2008. This wine is unlike most other Rose Champagnes since it is fuller and more texturally pleasing due to the relatively high percentage of red wine used in the blend. It has racy acidity, cashmere-like mousse, suberb complexity and perfect balance. Flavors of red currants, apples, minerals, wild strawberries, raspberry, passion fruit, Mandarin orange peel, pepper, chopped hazelnut, candied ginger and lime blossom notes carress the palate. It can be enjoyed with fois gras, lamb, white meat, and even venison but not as dessert.
