Grape: 75% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Meunier
Tasting Notes: Orchard Fruit, Stone Fruit, Chalk, Almond
Drappier was founded in 1808 in Urville and they were the first to bring Pinot Noir to that area in the 1930s. A little more than half of the production comes from their 130+ acres of estate vineyard. They farm organically and sustainably.
The Drappier Champagne is well knit, full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's charming and elegantly vinous with lovely texture and racy acidity. 5% of the cuvée is matured in barrels for a year for added complexity and texture. The complex palate features flavors orf white cherry, apple, peach, pear, melon, chalk, brioche, almond, white plum, and ginger with distinct notes of minerality. It goes with white meats, fish fillets, and shell fish.
