The history of Madeira wine stretches back to the Age of Exploration, when Madeira was a frequent port of call for ships whose captains would fuel up on wine for their trans-Atlantic journey. Winemaker Juan Teixeira works with the Broadbent family’s network of growers to create the blends but it's Michael Broadbent who goes to Madeira to personally taste and select only the finest wines.
A delicious, full-bodied and rich dessert wine, with an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. The palate brings a basket full of flavor notes such as raisins, plums, figs, caramel, toffee, dried apricot, dried mango, almonds, spices, citrus, and coffee with bits of cocoa and tobacco. The finish is long and pleasing.
