Blue Rock wines are made from grapes grown exclusively on their 100-acre Estate in Sonoma's Alexander Valley. The hillside property is filled with blue rocks, pebbles, and boulders and the 46 acres of vineyards are planted to the 5 Bordeaux varietals and Syrah. Oh, and you might be interested to know that Blue Rock is located right next door to Silver Oak Winery.
This vintage's proprietary red blend has a higher Cabernet Sauvignon percentage than previous vintages. The objective of the blend is to deliver a wine that is delicious and accessible with velvety tannins, fine aromatics, balance and length. Success of the objective can be found in the rich flavors of both black and red fruits, savory spices, hints of black tea and espresso, and just the right touch of toasty oak. Grilled beef, lamb or pork are classic pairings, but duck or chicken will do just as well. If you just want a burger, this wine will fit the bill as well.
