Agave: Tequilana Weber Blue Agave
Tasting Notes: Earth, Tobacco, Spice, Vanilla
Clase Azul was launched in 1997 by Arturo Lomeli.
Clase Azul Reposado is an ultra-premium reposado tequila that is slow cooked in traditional stone ovens for a minimum of 72 hours. Once the agave reaches a deep, rich flavor, it is fermented with proprietary yeast. After distillation, it is carefully aged for eight months in a combination of second-use Bourbon, Cognac, and Sherry oak barrels. It is then triple micro-filtrated to ensure the highest purity. The nose is very subtle with floral notes, honey and spice. Wet earth and vanilla combine to give the first sip a rustic but smooth and refined mouthfeel featuring notes of tobacco, black pepper, chamomile, anise and clove. The finish provides the subtlest hint of smoke mingled with the sweetness,of pineapple. Sip on its own or pair with hazelnuts, dark chocolate, or olives.
