Grape: Verdicchio
Tasting Notes: Peach, Mango, Walnut, Mineral
The owner/wine maker, Giovanni Basso, after 20 years of experience as a grower, always produces wines of traditional character that respect the territory. Fontezoppa is the name of an ancient spring which flowed where the threir vineyards are today.
Verdicchio is known for its bright fruit and vibrant acidity and the 2018 Fontezoppa in no exception. You get wonderful citrus notes, with hints of mango, walnut, peach, nectarine, sweet apple, pineapple, and crisp minerality. Good accompaniment for spaghetti with seafood or fried chicken, or oven roasted rabbit. This will develop additional complexity in years to come.
