Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes: Peach, Apple, Tropical Fruits, Orange
This is Abe Schoener, from Scholium Projects, flagship white wine and one of the few wines this groundbreaking winemaker makes every vintage. This is 100% foot crushed Sauvignon Blanc from Farina Vineyard in Sonoma, California which was aged on its skins for several weeks in uncovered oak barrels.
This orange wine is light only in color-- it is still utterly powerful in both aromatics and in the mouth. The skin-contact gives it a lot more textural depth and some cool olive oil and almond elements. The wine exhibits intense, ripe peach on the nose with an intense, dry and rich palate featuring tree fruits, citrus and tropical fruits that linger as long as it takes for you to take the next sip!
