Grape: Sangiovese
Tasting Notes: Cherry, Tea leaf, Plum, Spice
Amid the eastern hills of Montalcino near Siena in central Tuscany, stands the magnificently elegant 14th century-built Palazzo Altesi, home to the Altesino winery. The stunning Palazzo Altesi beautifully reflects Altesino’s charm and refinement.
The 2016 was a remarkable vintage in Montalcino. Add to that Altesino's stellar reputation for quality and you get a highly acclaimed wine. It's rich, medium-bodied with velvety tannins, balanced acidity, solid structure and layers of depth. There;s an abundance of fruit flavors such as spiced cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry, plum, cherry and wild strawberry. There's also notes of tea leaf, rosemary, lavender, vanilla, and hints of wet stone. It's a great match for Osso Bucco.
