Grape: Plavac Mali
Tasting Notes: Black Cherry, Pepper, Smoke, Spice
Plavac Mali is one of Croatia’s most planted variety whose taste profile is similar to Zinfandel (Zinfandel is actually its parent). It’s dense and robust, higher in alcohol and tannins, and has excellent aging capabilities, a trait not often seen in Croatian wines. This wine goes amazingly well with grilled meats. Picture on the label is the local wild dog čagalj which roams the hills of Pelješac.
