Grape: Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes:  Cherry, Plum, Strawberry, Spice

The three owners (Webster Marquez, Anthony Filiberti and David Low) crossed paths while working at Williams-Selyem in 2003. They started Anthill Farms in 2004. The partners themselves farm many of the small plots where they source their grapes.

The Anderson Valley Pinot was sourced from two of the appellation's coolest areas. Grapes in both vineyards are heavily affected by the cool, marine air off the ocean and thus, don't achieve significantly high ripeness levels, making it a more restrained, seamless, ethereal, elegantly-toned wine. This food-friendly, nuanced wine is supremely easy to drink with flavors of cherry, strawberry, red plum and a little black tea coming forward. Bright acidity, soft expressive tannins, long finish ending with tobacco and woody spice. A solid match for roast pork or a spice encrusted roast chicken.
