Grape: Sangiovese
Tasting Notes: Cherry, Earth, Floral, Oak
The 2017 vintage was a challenging year for Brunello di Montalcino resulting in a mixed bag of quality. Among the many fine offerings is the Argiano Brunello. It's received outstanding critical acclaim. The palate shows great density of flavors of cherry, plum, floral, earth, licorice, spice, tobacco, vanilla, coffee bean and a touch of mint. You also get the acidity and the tannic structure of an age-worthy Sangiovese. That said, this vintage has more of a near to medium term drinking window.
All 50ha of Argiano's vines are farmed organically, and the company is now plastic-free.
