Located in the southwest of the Montalcino hill at around 300 meters above sea level, Argiano is a fully organic farming estate with respect for the environment. Argiano is housed in a Renaissance villa once inhabited by Popes and noble families. Its winemaking history started in the 16th century in the same cellar that is still used today to give birth to some of the most distinguished wines of the world.
This acclaimed “Supertuscan” is a unique combination French and Tuscan grapes. The smoothness of Merlot and the dense fruit of Cab deftly interplay with the earthy character of Sangiovese. Syrah adds just a touch of warmth. Well balanced and generous, with dusty tannins and tons of body and a dry finish. The ripe berries, red currant, oak. earth, leather, and smoke flavors with delicate chocolate and hazelnut undertones are very attractive. Pairs nicely with Veal Scaloppine.
