Arnot-Roberts was founded in 2001 in Healdsburg, California by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts. Duncan and Nathan grew up in the midst of vineyards and winemakers in the Napa Valley. Each took an interest in the wine industry, with Nathan following his father’s lead as a cooper, and Duncan pursuing winemaking in renowned wineries in Napa and Sonoma.
Arnot-Roberts’ bottling of Watson Ranch Chardonnay was fermented in stainless steel and aged in neutral French oak for 10 months so minimal to no oak. It comes from the southernmost vineyard in Napa that was planted in 1993 and has been dry farmed.
The Watson Ranch Chardonnay is Chablis in style. It's is elegant, lean, open-knit, balanced, and expressive with bright acidity. The structured palate provides flavors of apple, pear, lemon, lime, flowers, mierality, nectarine, and a hint of passion fruit. A nice match for roasted fish or chicken.
