Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Cherry, Spice, Oak, Earth
Jim Clendenen, the “Mind Behind” Au Bon Climat, is recognized worldwide for his classically styled wines. After the birth of his daughter in 1995, Jim wanted to make a special wine for his daughter, Isabelle. It is comprised of only the best cuvees from 6 different vineyards.
Isabelle is Au Bon Climat’s richest Pinot Noir with loads of intensity and power. It is still balanced, ethereally textured, medium-bodied, incredibly elegant with bright acidity, supple tannins, and a great finish. Dried cherry, raspberry, black cherry, spice, oak, and hints of earth and forest floor and notes of minerality all emerge from the glass. Pair this gentle Pinot with grilled red snapper or quiche Lorraine or an Easter ham.
