Grape: Trebbiano d’Abruzzo
Tasting Notes: Orchard fruits, Citrus, Mineral, Apricot
Riccardo Tiberio found an old plot of Trebbiano Abruzzese vines roughly 60 years old so impressive that he decided to change his and his family’s destiny. He knew that Trebbiano Abruzzese vines were a rarity. In 2000 he purchased the 8 hectare old vine plot of Trebbiano Abruzzese along with 31 hectares of land suitable for his single estate wines. In 2008, Riccardo Tiberio handed over the reins of the winery to his highly competent children, daughter Cristiana and son Antonio.
The Tiberio family has an uncanny ability to make outstanding Trebbiano d’Abruzzo every year. The Tiberio Trebbiano d'Abruzzu is made from only the free run juice. It has round textures and is impeccably balanced, with good structure, brisk acidity and a mineral-tinged finish. The savory palate is rich with flavors of green apple, lemon ice, flinty minerality, apricot, grapefruit, and almond. Very persistent and fragrant on the pure finish. A good match for fried fish dishes or quiche.
