Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Red fruit, Spice, Citrus, Herb
Bergstrom Wines is a family-owned and operated artisan producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which was started in 1999. All estate acreage is farmed biodynamically and all wines express the wonderful diversity of Oregon's many great terroirs.
While blended from most or all of the winery’s many vineyard sources, this is far from a basic Pinot being reminiscent of a young Gevrey Chambertin. You do get spice and flinty and earthy tones but this is ultimately a New World Pinot so there is succulent fruit on the palate. There is plenty of raspberry, cherry, strawberry, pomegranate, and citrus flavors as well as hints of chocolate. It has bright acidity and really fine tannnis. It begs to be paired with mushrooms, roast chicken, or cheeses.
