Tasting Notes: Plum, Blackberry, Chocolate, Smoke
In 1895, an English Engineer, Mr. Edmund J. P. Norton planted imported France vines, thereby giving origin to what was the first winery in the area. Skip ahead to 1989 when Austrian businessman Gernot Langes-Swarovski is bowled over by the beauty of Mendoza and decides to buy Bodega Norton. Bodega Norton continued to expand under Gernot;s son Michael Halstrick including entering the export markets. Today, Bodega Norton's wines and winemakers continue to receive awards for excellence.
Norton's Privada is full bodied with great acidity, sturdy tannic grip, nice structure and good balance. Flavors of plum, blackberry, cedar, tobacco, chocolate, leather, smoke, and licorice with some herbal notes fill the mouth. Perfect to accompany beef stew
