Grape: Tannat
Tasting Notes: Blackberry, Plum, Coffee, Vanilla
What Malbec is to Argentina, Tannant is to Uruguay, its national grape. In Southwest France where this grape originates, the wine is full-bodied with considerable tannins, and sometimes blended with other grapes to soften. In Uruguay, the climate is cooler due to the Atlantic. With a longer growing season Tannant from Uruguay is fleshier and more velvety. Enjoy this wine with strong cheese, grilled meats or duck.
