Tasting Notes: Cherry, Spice, Oak, Plum
Rioja Bordón wines are produced by Bodegas Franco-Españolas, a winery that was founded in 1890 by Frenchman Frederick Anglade Saurat. It was borne out of a partnership between France and Spain. Today, the winery is in the hands of the 3rd generation of the Eguizábal family, which has been the owner since 1984.
It's a more traditional style, medium-full bodied, well structured with fresh, juicy acidity and drying tannins. On the palate you'll enjoy flavors of oak, spices, plum, leather, and red cherry, along with some mocha and toffee notes. Pair with roast leg of lamb, veal piccata or a grilled steak.
