Grape: Tempranillo
Tasting Notes: Cherry, Plum, Licorice, Oak
Bodegas Riojanas is the maker of this Monte Real Reserva. The Artacho family founded Bodegas Riojanas in 1890. After the 1930s, they gained new plots of land in the vicinity of Cenicero and Sonsierra, where single-vineyard Monte Real is made.
A modern-style Rioja with deep color, lush fruit, and structure that's full bodied and has well-integrated tannins and solid acid. The palate features traditional Rioja flavors of cherry, red plum, ripe strawberry, licorice, mineral, oak, vanilla, blackberry, tobacco, and spice. It has a long and persistent finish. Pair with steak, leg of lamb, and earthy vegetable dishes.
