Tasting Notes: Grapefruit, Green Pear, Apple, Melon
Carmel has been growing grapes up near Galilee since before modern history. In the 1890's the vines were replanted to "modern" varietals. Those vineyards have remained largely the same for the last 100+ years. The Kayoumi Riesling shows wonderful grapefruit and tropical aromas. Medium-bodied, crisp and dry on the palate with notes of fresh lime, tart apple, cantaloupe, and stony minerals with medium-plus acidity on the long and finish. This single vineyard is good by itself or with spicy Asian food.
