Tasting Notes: Cherry, Plum, Smoke, Herbs
Located just below the village of Montalcino, Casanuova delle Cerbaie was founded in the late 1970s but its current identity is much more modern. It was purchased by an American entrepreneur in 2008 but Casanuova delle Cerbaie still makes wine that is very traditional in style.
This sangiovese based blend has medium acidity, light tannins. mouthwatering acidity and is well balanced. This wine drinks younger than it is. There are appealing notes of bright cherry, pomegranate, plum, gravel, herbs, and some random savory notes. Enjoy with pasta with lamb bolognese sauce.
