Grape: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Black fruits, Earth, Oak, Tobacco
Château d’Issan is a Third Growth of the 1855 Imperial Classification. Blason is their 2nd label. It was introduced in 1995 to enable selection amongst their vines growing in the Margaux appellation area. Fruit from their youngest vines is used to produce Blason. It may be enjoyed earlier than their estate bottling.
This beautiful, seductive wine is over delivers. It's concentrated, full-bodied, complex, and balanced with ripe tannin and decent acidity. The supple palate provides flavors of blackberry, plum, black currant, tobacco, earth, oak, leather, and vanilla as well as floral and cedary notes. A nice match for barbequed ribs,.
