Grape: 62% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Plum, Cherry, Leather, Smoke
Haut-Beauséjour was purchased by Champagne Louis Roederer in 1992. Château Haut-Beauséjour is made from a selection of grapes from the finest slopes of Saint-Estèphe.
The wine of Château Haut-Beauséjour is vinified in traditional, large wood vats and aged in about 30% new, French oak barrels for about 12 months. It has medium body, firm tannins, juicy acidity, and a long, lingering finish. Abundant flavors of blackberry, plum, cherry, earth, oak, smoke, leather, with enticing red tea and floral notes build the rich palate. A good match for lamb chops or a pork roast.
