Grape:  Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot

Tasting Notes:  Black currant, Mushroom, Plum, Spice

Chateau Siran is located in Labarde, the southernmost commune in the Margaux appelation. Chateau Siran is one of the rare estates in Bordeaux to have belonged to the same family for over 150 years (the chateau was acquired in 1859 by the family who presently own it). Representing the fifth generation, Edouard Miailhe has been at the helm of this unique estate since 2007.

Château Siran generally expresses finesse, femininity and silkiness in their wine. The wines of Siran are typical of the great Margaux growths. The 2018 is full bodied, well structured, and complex with velvety tannins and crisp acidity, finishing long with notes of graphite. Black fruits, plum, black currant, mushroom, black tea, sandalwood, leather, and oak flavors swirl over the palate. Will age for 20 years. Beautiful with roast lamb.

The Wine Enthusiast's #1 wine of 2021.
