Tasting Notes: Plum, Smoke, Leather, Blackberry
Pibran is an old Médoc name. Its highly reputed vineyard covers one of the finest outcrops of Pauillac. The estate, which originally had only just 10 hectares, was expanded in 2001 to 17 hectares.Today Château Tour Pibran is carefully made by Jean-René Matignon and his team at Château Pichon-Baron.
The Tour Pibran's structure is fully integrated with the wine's balance. It's rich, smooth, polished, and complex with gobs of tannin offset by the bright acidity. The medium-bodied palate offers exquisite pure black fruits laced with graphite, smoke, leather, vanilla, plum, and tobacco. The finish is moderately long and velvety. Think grilled red meats.
