Grape: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot.
After a brief cold soak the must was inoculated with yeast and fermented using traditional methods in stainless steel vats. The wine aged in the Chateau's chai for roughly 16-18 months in oak (50% new).
A dark ruby and purple, Batailley is classic Pauillac, offering notes of cassis, red and black currants which are framed by hints of earth, cedar and spice.
Chateau Batailley is a 5th Growth winery located in the Pauillac region of France. The property was named after the15th century battle that took place on the estate grounds during the Hundred Years' War.
