The Château de Fontenille has a long history dating back to the 13th century. Monks from the neighboring Abbey de la Sauve Majeure tended the vines for hundreds of years.
This wine from the Cadillac region in the Bordeaux is vinified in stainless steel tanks followed by 18 months aging in new French barriques. The palate is dense and structured yet approachable and balanced by fresh acidity. It exudes flavors of black fruits, pepper, oak, spices, and bramble. Some favorite pairings include magret of duck, charcoal grilled strip steak, and roasted leg of lamb.
