Chateau de Saint Cosme is the leading estate of Gigondas and produces the appellation’s benchmark wines. Wine has been produced on the site of Saint Cosme since Roman times. They were one of the first in the region to work organically beginning in the 1970s and to biodynamics in 2010.
The Saint Cosme Gigondas is full-bodied and generous. It's bright, brisk and lively; round and supple with no hard edges. It has precise acidity and salinity, good complexity and good balance.
The palate features flavors of red raspberries, black cherries, fig, foresty herbal notes, and blackberry with licorice, violets, and charcoal nuances. Bottled unfiltered. We'd suggest a match with lamb grilled over rosemary or a hearty stew.
