Tasting Notes: Blackberry, Cherry, Oak, Leather
Thomas Jefferson, the American ambassador to France and the future president of the United States, was a Bordeaux wine connoisseur and ranked it directly after Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Latour and Chateau Margaux in his fascinating travel diaries. And he was right. In 1855 Durfort-Vivens attained Second Growth classification. This Vivens par Chateau Durfort-Vivens is their second label.
Perfectly balanced. Medium body, light tannins and matching acid make it a nice quaff. Taste is full of cherries, blackberry, cassis, cinnamon and herb flavors with complementary oak support. Will complement a steak very well.
