Tasting Notes: Blueberries, Black plums, Oak, Spices
Chateau Faugeres has a long history in St. Emilion dating back to 1619, when the vineyard was cultivated by Andre de Faugeres. Robert Parker Jr. included this Chateau among the top 24 Bordeaux wines, calling it "Legend of the Future". In 2009, a complete renovation of Chateau Faugeres was completed. The architecturally stunning, state of the art winery, designed by Mario Botta, is one the most modern, Bordeaux wine making facilities in the Right Bank.
This medium bodied wine is perfectly balanced with velvety, extracted tannins and uicy acidity. Blueberry, plum, fig, boysenberry, cassis, black cherry, oak, with spice, herbs and earth nuances are present on the lush palate. There's a long and complex finish. Will pair well with lamb chops.
