Chateau Montviel was the first Pomerol estate purchased by Catherine Péré-Vergé, who passed away after successfully running properties in Bordeaux and Argentina. She bought Chateau Montviel in 1985 and the vineyard is planted to 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The wine is 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc from the Pomerol region of Bordeaux. It's aged in 50-100% new French oak barrels depending on the vintage; Michel Rolland has been consulting since 1988.
