Clase Azul was launched in 1997 by Arturo Lomeli. 

Clase Azul Tequila Plata is produced from organic Agave that have matured for at least nine years. It's slow roasted in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours and then fermented with a brand developed proprietary yeast using water refined in a five steps process and then triple filtered. Clase Azul has a very delicate aroma with sweet candied notes of papaya, mango, lemon zest and soft notes of black pepper. The finish is long and strong of with flavors of butterscotch and crystallized honey. Plata is bottled in a clear blue base accented bottle to show its clarity and pureness that are hand-made by artisians in local communities.  Lomeli says his tequila is for savoring, not mixing in a cocktail or downing as a shot. You can also pair it with seafood or goat cheese without ash.
