Grape: Chardonnay
Tasting Notes: Floral, Wet Stone, Citrus, Lemon curd
Because Mariani is a little 1-acre jewel of a vineyard, Cobb made just 100 cases in the 2015 vintage. The winemakers feel it yields the closest thing to a white Burgundy that they've ever tasted from California. They may be slightly prejudiced but it's included on the wine lists of some of the country's top restaurants, including The French Laundry and Per Se. The 2015 has wonderful concentration and fruit intensity. It is rounder and richer than the more austere 2014. Pair it with simply prepared Dungeness crab.
