Grape: Sciaccarellu

Ajaccio (Ah-jocky-o) is the primary wine growing region on the Southeastern part of the Island of Corsica where Domaine de Vaccelli is located. The granite hillsides are well suited for Sciaccerellu, a native Corsican grape. The Domaine de Vaccelli Rouge delivers bright red fruit with spice and herbaceousness reminiscent of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.  While structured to age, it is certainly quite enjoyable today as a perfect complement to grilled meats or fish, or any number of vegetable dishes.
