Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Cherry, Raspberry, Earth, Oak
In 1825, Pierre Faiveley founded the firm that now bears the name Domaine Faiveley. The Faiveley family has purchased vineyards and is today among the largest owners of classified vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise with holdings totaling 331 acres, of which 30 acres are grands crus and 67 acres are premiers crus. Today, the house is run by seventh-generation Eve and Erwan Faiveley.
This clos produces a powerful, direct and well-balanced wine that's medium-bodied and has a velvety tannic backbone as well as lively acidity. The savory palate features cherry, raspberry, strawberry, earth, mushroom, oak, vanilla, and spice. Boeuf Bourguignon or surf and turf will pair nicely.
