Tasting Notes: Pear, Melon, Vanilla, Orange peel
Nearly 150 years ago, Victor Boillot created this beautiful small domaine with its three 1er Cru parcel. Today, the Domaine is owned and managed by American Mark O’Connell. They follow an organic and biodynamic regimen.
One of the great white wines of the world, Corton Charlemagne has the ability to be enjoyed young while still having the capability to age for decades. This is a solid effort from Domaine Clos de la Chapelle - deep, full-bodied with medium acid and nascently complex. The palate is a lovely, plush array of orchard and stone fruit as well as lemon and minerals with floral charm and a bit of new oak. It has a laser-like precision that provides great length. It's structure allows it to work well with sea bass, halibut, scallops, snails, and mussels.
