Tasting Notes: Tropical Fruit, Mineral, White Flowers, Peach
The Ferrandière estate is farmed sustainably and is certified by Terra Vitis. The vines are planted on the old saltwater marsh of Marseillette. The vineyards undergo a period of flooding for 40 days after each winter in an effort to regulate the natural salinity of the soils upon which they grow. The Domaine de la Ferrandière was owned and farmed by the Gau family for more than 100 years until they sold the estate to Jean-Claude Mas of Domaines Paul Mas in 2013.
The Viognier is dry, medium bodied with good balance, medium + acidity, and lots of layers and complexity. There's plenty of yellow apple, pineapple, mango, peach, and apricot flavors with vanilla, mineral and ginger notes. Goes well with grilled chicken or spicy entrees.
