Grape: Assyrtiko
Tasting Notes: Citrus, Pear, Saline, Mineral
Despite the deep history of wine in the region, the Serres area gained status as an “appellation of origin” only two decades ago, thanks in large part to the work of vintner Nerantzis Mitropoulos and his family. They are committed to organic farming practices.
This lovely Macedonian Assyrtiko is zesty and invigorating with bright acidity, beautiful texture and weight and a subtle salinity. The refreshing palate passes flavors of apple, honey, pear, mineral, lemon, lime, melon, and slight saline notes with a hint of green olive. A winner with a whole roasted Branzino or Alaskan King Crab.
