Tasting Notes: Orange Peel, Dried Fruit, Almond, Sherry
The name Maire has been associated with the Jura since 1632 and Arbois Savagnin Sous Voile is an oxidative wine from this unique region. Oxidative wines are wines that have been deliberately exposed to oxygen during the winemaking process. The resulting wine is powerful with a complex aroma of dried fruit, orange peel, and almond. The taste is layered with impressions of a fino sherry. Because of their unique character, oxidative wines go well with foods commonly tough to pair, like artichokes, raw fish, shellfish, and even cooked, richer items.
