Guigal produces an intensely concentrated, inviting and complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape that is almost unique to the region today. The combination of working with top fruit that has perfect ripeness, along with their extraordinary patience in the cellar, results in rich and full, yet savory, spicy, seamless and balanced wines.
Guigal's 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape is another fine effort from this quality-conscious négociant. This Chateauneuf du Pape is a ripe, full-bodied example of the appellation. It's wonderfully velvety and rich, with plenty of dark fruit, cola, leather, and oak flavors all accented by dried spices on the long finish. A great companion for lamb chops.
