Tasting Notes: Marascino Cherry, Plum, Anise, Cinammon
Situated in the tiny village of Sorbo Serpico in Campania’s Irpinia region, this highly acclaimed estate was established by the Capaldo and Ercolino families in 1986. Their new winery was inaugurated in 2004, reflecting Feudi di San Gregorio’s wish to blend its long-standing tradition with a futuristic architectural project.
Aglianico is one of the great grapes of Southern Italy. It is at it's best in Taurasi and this full-bodied wine that has voluptuous texture, terrific balance with sweet and soft tannins. It has lots of interestings flavors such as blackberry jam, dark chocolate, cherry, plum, warm spices, vanilla, and licorice. An excellent wine for drinking with the finest roasted red meats and poultry. Although it can be drunk now, it will smooth out with some age or decanting.
