Grape: Trebbiano Spoletino
Tasting Notes: Grilled Pineapple, Tea, Spice, Apricot
Maceratum is a beautiful, aromatic, flavorful, skin contact wine from the hills around Montefalco in Umbria. The grapes are hand-harvested in late October, fermented on the skins for 10 days, with soft punch-downs to extract color and structure. The wine is copper-colored with vibrant aromas and flavors of grilled pineapple, along with fresh apricot, ripe citrus, delicate tannins, and a long, crisp finish. It's bottled unfined/unfiltered. A near-perfect orange wine.
