Grape: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc

Tastomg Notes: Citrus, Honey, Mineral. Oak

In 1859, Giovanna Gaja founded the Gaja Winery, producing some of the first wine from Piedmont to be bottled and sold outside the region. Since that time, the winery has been shaped by each generation’s hand. In 1961, Angelo Gaja began his mission of bringing this great winery to an even higher level. Angelo is joined by the fifth generation of the GAJA family – his daughters Gaia and Rossana (for whom this wine is named) and his son Giovanni.

This wine is elegant, complex, powerful yet balanced with brisk acidity, considerable depth, vibrant structure, and soft texture. Six weeks of oak aging gives some roundness to this lovely Chardonnay from one of Italy's premiere red wine producers. Grapefruit, lime, apple, herbs, mineral, honey, peaches, and vanilla flavors excite the palate. This all leads to a superb lengthy finish. Should do well with roast chicken or white bodied fish.
