Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Raspberry, Black Cherry, Herb, Coffee
Gérard Morin took over the family’s 1½ hectares of vineyard about twenty years ago and his son, Pierre has been gradually eased into the front line and now runs the show. Their nine hectares of vines consist of seven of Sauvignon Blanc and two of Pinot Noir planted on crus such as Les Châteaux and Crépon, amongst the finest and steepest of Bué.
Made from a parcel of thirty-five year-old pinot noir vines, this refined Sancerre Rouge is deep and classy, focused and well-structured with concentration and a touch of tannin and balancing acidity. The fine and seductive palate features fresh and abundant flavors of raspberry, cherry, black cherry, mint, coffee, and woodsmoke. Try with a coffee encrusted pork roast.
