Tasting Notes: Peach, Citrus, Herbal, Mineral
Gut Hermannsberg has some of the best vineyard sites in all of Germany, most planted to Riesling. The Domaine has a history over 100 years old and is now run by Jens Reidel and Dr. Christine Dinse and winemaker Karsten Peter. All of Gut Hermannsberg's vineyards are rated as Erste Lage, or first-growth.
The grapes for this wine come exclusively from major German vineyards, mostly estate vineyards. This dry, round, elegant Riesling is fermented in all stainless steel to keep the freshness and character of the wine. It shows great minerality with lots of layers of flavor (green apple, pear, peach, apricot, herbal spiciness, and quince). Nice mouthwatering acidity and the fruit makes the finish last. All of this at an incredible price. It will pair well with salads, carpaccio, ceviche and pasta dishes.
